Creating and managing tags
Using Tags in CATS is a great way to organize candidates, contacts and companies in a way that can be used to easily identify them based whatever categories your company needs to sort by. Tags are custom created, compounding and can be used across all types of records.
Tags can be added to records in several ways:
- You can add tags to multiple records by selecting them within a grid and using the Actions dropdown to select Add tags.
- You can add tags to a single record from within a record's profile by clicking on the dropdown in the upper right hand corner and selecting Tag.
- You can add a tag from the preview window in a grid by clicking on the dropdown in the upper right hand corner and selecting Tag.
All tags will appear within a record's profile under the Tag field.
Searching with Tags
You can access all tags for your system from the Tag icon in the upper right hand corner of any major record grid. From here, you can select tags to filter by, create new tags and create new categories for those tags.
You can select which tag options you would like to pull up results for by clicking the check box next to the tag name. You can search for tags to use by typing a tag name into the Filter tags field in the upper right hand corner of the tags box. After making this selection, you can use the AND/OR selector to choose how you would like to sort for these tags. And will filter search for candidates that contain all tags selected (i.e. Construction AND Entertainment). OR will search for candidates that contain one filter, or a different filter (i.e. Technical Support OR Customer Service). You can then hit Filter to commit the search to the current grid. You can also search for tags using boolean search terms in our grid filter.
If you'd like to add/edit/delete a tag or category, you can use the Manage Tags link in the bottom right hand corner of the tags box. This will pull up your tag management options. You can add a new category by clicking on the Add Category link in the upper right hand corner, or add a new tag to a category by clicking on the Add Tag link next to any available Category. You can also edit the category name by clicking on the pencil icon next to it's name, and delete tags/categories blicking on the red X next to the corresponding tag/category when hovered over.
