Backup your account

While we maintain automatic backups for all of our customers, you also have the option to generate downloadable, on-demand backups for your own use. There is a limit of one backup per 24 hours.

This data is available in a full account backup or a resume bundle.

Full Account Backups

A full account backup will include all information in your database like names, contact information, pipelines, notes, users, etc. Full account backups are structured as a series of interconnected CSV data tables. This backup format is optimized for use by development teams and transferring to other systems rather than for individual reference.

To generate a full account backup, navigate to the Settings > Administration > Account Backup location within CATS and click the Create New Backup button in the upper section.

You have the option to Include Email in your full account backup. This produces a table with all historical email activity in CATS. This additional table will be included in the "CSVs" folder. Depending on your site size, age, and email activity level, this option has the potential to increase backup size and generation time significantly. We generally only recommend including email if you plan on moving your data to a new system.

You may also opt to Include attachments in your backup. This will compress all document files (resumes, cover letters, etc.) related to your records. This will generate in a separate folder titled "Attachments". If you would only like to download attachment files from a particular time period, this can be done via the Start Date and End Date fields. Leaving both fields unspecified will include all attachment files.

This option has the potential to increase backup size and generation time significantly. We generally only recommend including attachments if you plan on moving your data to a new system.

Your backup will be generated behind the scenes. When the backup is complete, a download link will appear in the Recent Backups section of the Account Backup page. Backups are stored for a total of 7 days. If you generate multiple backups within these 7 days, only the latest two will be displayed. Previous backups will no longer be available to view or download. We recommend downloading your completed account backups to your hard drive for permanent storage.

Resume Bundles

If you'd like to download only resumes from your database, resume bundles are a great option. Unlike the "include attachment" option in a full account backup, a resume bundle will contain only the most recent file that is set to "Is resume" for each candidate. Older resumes that were previously added and/or document files that are not set "Is resume" will not be included.

To generate a resume bundle, navigate to the Settings > Administration > Account Backup location within CATS and click the Create Resume Bundle button in the lower section.

If you would only like to download the latest resumes from a particular time period, this can be done via the Start Date and End Date fields. Leaving both fields unspecified will include all current resume attachment files.

Your resume bundle will be generated behind the scenes. When it's complete, a download link will appear in the Recent Resume Bundles section of the Account Backup page.
